Big Day at the Bookshop: Ribbon Cutting & Volunteer Luncheon

Yesterday, our Boerne Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting ceremony took place at the Bookshop Under the Windmill! President Cheryl Perz spoke to the crowd of about 40 people: she introduced volunteers and talked about the activities of the bookstore. Following the ribbon cutting, the Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon got underway. Our Volunteer of the Year, Pat Beeman, was announced...congrats, Pat! And, while the bookstore was not officially open, we sold over $75 worth of books during these events. Wow!

New Deck at the Bookshop Under the Windmill

It only took a couple of weeks...our new outdoor deck at The Bookshop Under the Windmill is finished and ready for you to enjoy!

Complete with railing, steps and lots of space, the new deck will allow shoppers and visitors to enjoy our beautiful "back yard".  We plan on hosting many events in this new space!

Speical thanks to Gavin Grosenbacher of Grosenbacher Custom Homes did a fantastic job building our deck. We highly recommend him not just for his exemplary craftsmanship but also for his attentiveness to our needs and questions and also his professionalism. Thanks, Gavin!

FOBPL attend Becky Crouch Patterson Luncheon

In the idyllic setting of the Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club, the Friends of the Boerne Public Library recently attended a luncheon hosted by the Boerne Reading Club featuring author Becky Crouch Patterson, daughter of local legend Hondo Crouch. Listening to Becky's stories of her family and life living on their ranch was fascinating, and we hope to host a book signing for her soon at the Bookshop Under the Windmill. Stay tuned!
