Books Fly at Boerne Outdoor Family Fair

On Saturday, March 16, Boerne held its annual Outdoor Family Fair at the Main Plaza...and the Friends of the Boerne Public Library were there! We handed out over five large boxes of books, free to children, and we also gave out bookmarks and coupons to use at our Bookshop Under the Windmill. We were so thankful for the gorgeous weather because so many families turned out for this wonderful community event. Thank you, Boerne!

Standing Room Only for Irish Storytelling Night!

Over sixty people - adults and children - attended our Irish Storytelling Night featuring storyteller Jane McDaniel! She spun her tales for an hour: some funny, some sad, ALL spectacular and fascinating. The Boerne Cooking Cottage provided yet another wonderful offering of treats for the crowd, including cookies with Bailey's Irish Creme frosting. Not a crumb was left...delicious!

Our well-fed attendees were the pot of gold under the rainbow: they donated $130 to the Bookshop Under the Windmill. We will be purchasing furniture for our new deck with these much-needed funds. Each donor got their name on a four-leaf clover that is now prominently hanging on the wall in the Bookshop. You can get one, too! We are open this Friday and Saturday, 10:00am-2:00pm. Come see us!
