We Need YOUR Used Books

With success, comes demand...books are flying off the shelves at The Bookshop Under the Windmill! As Boerne's only bookstore, we need your gently-used paperbacks, hardbacks, coffee table books, etc., so our shoppers have a great experience.  The money we make from the sale of your used books is used to support the Patrick Heath Public Library. Please drop off your donations at the Main Library next door to the Bookshop.

Please contact Sandy at 830-249-3053 at the library if you are interested in being a sponsor. This is a FUN community event that all ages enjoy!

We got a huge donation from the Wilcox family!  If you know someone who is a history buff be sure to tell them to come check out the bookshop!   We are now open Wednesday through Saturday 10am-2pm.  

Be sure to come to the library during the month of May to see the donated art !

Everyday brings in new books. Here are some of this week's favorites.

 

Just in:  1979 Texas A&M yearbook.  $5.00  Excellent condition.  Gig'em Aggies!

Encyclopedia Britannica facsimile of the 1771 edition.
3 Volume set, bound in dark brown leatherette with gilt spinal lettering. Published in 1971 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the publication of the original edition.  This set would look beautiful sitting in your library, but I must tell you, the pictures inside are awesome! $50.00

Epic of Flight - Time Life Books; 11 volumes, published in 1983.  Leatherette with stamped gold lettering. These books are very popular with our Military/History shoppers.  $2.00 each.  Excellent condition. 

Oh my. Here it is.  7,000 pages of EVERYTHING Texas. Beautiful 6 volume set published in 1996.  Find these in the Texas section of the bookshop. $225.00.

We don't get many WWI books in the shop - so this little book is extra special.               Army/Navy 1917.

Published by the Prudential Insurance Co. of America:  Beautiful  color illustrations regarding Infantry, Cavalry, Engineers, Aviation, Weapons & Equipment, Artillery, Marine & Sailor, Dreadnaught, Torpedo Boat, Submarine, Cruiser and Medical Department.  32pp.  Very good condition. $5.00.

Who's Who in Uniform.  A simplified method of knowing the Rank and Branch of Service of the Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, Red Cross, Civilian Defense and affiliated Services. Over 500 illustrations. The most complete book on the subject every published.  $10.00

Louis L'amour  Western stories.   Everyone knows someone who loves Louis L'amour.  Stop in and buy their favorite hard cover leatherette bound novel with gold stamp lettering and  gilt edges for $4.00. Excellent condition. Don't miss this, cowgirl!

It’s not Fall without our 2nd Annual Farmyard visit! Grab your kiddos (and camera) and get ready to oohh and ahhh ! Animals include sheep, lambs, goats, chickens, rabbits, miniature bull, pony, and Wilma the potbelly pig!

Tuesday, September 3, 10 am - noon - It's Senior Day!  Come and enjoy some lively conversation, lemonade/coffee/cookies on the deck and use your $1.00 coupon to find that perfect book.

Wednesday, September 11th, 9:00 am. Friends of Boerne Public Library monthly meeting. All are welcome.

Wednesday, September 11th, 10:30 - Little Listener Storytime at the bookshop. Last year the petting zoo was so much fun we decided to do it again. We'll have a pony and a little bull along with Wilma the pig and many more! Come and snap that perfect picture! Everyone is welcome.

Saturday, October 19th, Noon - 2:00 pm - Texas Rangers Joaquin Jackson, Ray Martinez and Mike Cox will be at the shop for a book signing. Details to follow, but save the date. It's going to be big!
